Nairobi’s high-profile legal circles are buzzing after billionaire lawyer Cecil Guyana Miller, one of Kenya’s most feared and respected corporate litigators, launched a fierce legal battle to protect his name from what he calls a calculated smear campaign.

Miller, the founding partner at Miller & Company Advocates, has instructed P.W. Wena & Company Advocates to issue a demand letter against blogger Nelson Amenya over a damning article published on his platforms. The post accuses Miller of pocketing Sh30 million from a client for work that allegedly never took place and linking his firm to a Ksh 1.8 billion lawsuit in what the lawyer describes as pure fabrication.

The August 12, 2025 demand letter, seen by this publication, blasts the accusations as false, malicious, and defamatory, warning that they deliberately portray Miller as dishonest, incompetent, and corrupt. It argues that such statements are designed to destroy the reputation he has built over decades in Kenya’s corporate law arena — where trust is the ultimate currency.

Miller’s camp isn’t playing games. The letter demands the immediate removal of the article, a public apology, and monetary compensation for the damage caused. The blogger has been given twelve hours to comply or face an aggressive court battle that could see him slapped with massive damages for the reputational harm caused.

For Miller, whose client list includes some of the biggest names in Kenya’s corporate sector, the stakes are high. “This is about safeguarding decades of integrity and professional standing,” a close associate told us. “Reputation is everything in this business — and Miller will not let anyone drag his name through the mud.”

The unfolding case sets the stage for a bruising courtroom showdown between a media firebrand and a legal heavyweight who has made a career out of dismantling his opponents in court. And if history is anything to go by, this is a fight Miller intends to win — decisively.
