Kenyans in several towns held demonstrations today to protest the high cost of living, rising taxes, and economic hardship. Crowds gathered in Nairobi, Kisumu, and Mombasa, demanding urgent action from the government.
Protesters waved placards and chanted slogans, accusing leaders of ignoring the daily struggles of ordinary citizens. Police were deployed to monitor the situation, and in some areas, teargas was used to disperse crowds.
Organizers say the demonstrations will continue if prices of fuel, food, and electricity remain high. They are calling for a review of recent tax laws and better public accountability.
