An elderly woman from Gikandu, Murang’a county, has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to
Deputy President William Ruto after he built her a concrete house.
64-year-old Margaret Njambi could not hide her joy after she saw to completion the house which
the deputy president had pledged when he hosted her at his Karen office in February this year.
This came after the octogenarian who had been captured passionately criticising the Building
Bridges Initiative(BBI) sought to meet Ruto. Luckily for her, the wish was granted and had the opportunity to spend moments with the second in command at his Karen office.
Besides putting a decent abode for her, Ruto promised to support Njambi in her farming venture.

Ruto made good his promise, putting up a house for Njambi who has been vouching for his presidency saying it will “transform Kenya”.

“Coming from Karen up to Gikandu. That is how it is! We are going to see whether he is the
one to come and unveil the house and witness the works of his hands. That is what I want.
Ruto is one who says and fulfils, he is like Kenneth Matiba,” she said.
“I’m your shosh (grandmother). I want you to come and see the work of your hands. I am very
thankful and I do not know what to say. The house has been built the way you wished…I am
very happy because of you,” she stated.
Njambi pledged to marshal support on behalf of Ruto who will be seeking to succeed President
Uhuru Kenyatta whose second and final term will be lapsing next year.
She also called for unity between Uhuru and Ruto saying their fallout was of disservice to the
“We want the two of you to be together. If you work together our country will prosper. If you disagree, our country will not see prosperity,” she said.
