Thousands of Githurai residents turned up in large numbers to receive ODM leader Raila Odinga on Monday.
The former Prime Minister made a stopover in the busy town, as he wound up his three-day tour of the Mt. Kenya region.
The mammoth crowd suddenly sent shockwaves through Deputy President William Ruto’s Hustler Nation. Ruto and Raila are locked up in the battle for Central Kenya ahead of next year’s elections.
Unlike in his previous visits to the region, Raila was accompanied by four Mt. Kenya Governors and MPs Sabina Chege and Kanini Kega.
Baba had pitched camp in Nanyuki since Saturday where he met youths and Mt. Kenya businessmen.
