Yesterday was a chaotic day in Mt Kenya after a clash was witnessed between Ruto and Uhuru’s supporters.
The second in command was expected to attend a church service in a local church in Nyeri but it was later established that three churches would later cancel their invites for Ruto.
Ruto and his allies are however said to have been unbowed and later attended another tiny church in Nyeri that allowed to host the second in command.
Ruto would then address hundreds of his supporters in both Nyeri and Githurai.
In his rallies, there were hundreds of supporters who had turned out going by the photos that were circulated on social media platforms.
A new twist has however emerged today after the Nation has reported that trucks could be seen ferrying people to the venue where Ruto was to address his supporters.
According to the Daily Nation, before Ruto even made his way to Nyeri for the service, there were a number of trucks that arrived that were loaded with his supporters.
These supporters were apparently manning UDA t-shirts.
Owing to the fact that Ruto was to worship in a tiny church that could not support him and his supporters, the church was forced to shift it’s service to Mbiriri Grounds where a succesful service was held.
This comes as Nyeri Town Member of Parliament Ngunjiri Wambugu has faulted Ruto and his allies for choosing to worship in Kieni yet Rigathi Gachagua could have hosted Ruto in his Mathira Constituency.
According to Wambugu, Ruto and his allies are entirely to blame for the violence that erupted in Nyeri yesterday.
