We applaud the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) taskforce for coming up with a robust document whose content forms the basis for a national conversation; a conversation where there will be no greater or smaller person, superior or inferior opinion. All Kenyans will air their views openly and frankly, so that we can have an informed talk.
The recommendations inform us on how to build institutions of governance, submit to the rule of law, and rid our country of the politics of ethnicity and personalities to issues that will set pace for the transformation of our country.
The proposals will help address the huge divide between the haves and the have-nots, the employed and unemployed, speaking for all Kenyans and their problems. We must, therefore, be vigilant that it is not hijacked by the political class who may make it a subject of sharing positions and power.
